Daniel was just recording the crazy percussion-solo-piece Vibraphonie by the German composer Thomas Lauck for Lauck's Portrait CD which will be released beginning of 2012. More details soon!

Daniel will be co-curating a festival with the Australian Melbourne based sonic-arts-organisation JOLT Arts. The Festival is called Terrains and is scheduled for November 10-12@Gare du Nord Basel with three days of concerts and performances by Swiss and Australian artists such as CORTEX/Stelarc, Ensemble Phoenix Basel, BOLT Ensemble, Oren Ambarchi, Sean Baxter, Herpes Ö DeLuxe, Francosco Meirino, Buggatronic, Jonas Kocher/ Gaudenz Badrutt, Adam Simmons and more...

A one-week exhibition with installations by Stelarc, Phillip Brophy and James Hullick in the heart of Basel city.
Shortly we will be announcing the full program for the Terrains Festival. Swiss and Aussie acts sharing remarkable audio magic in the city of Basel. Many thanks to James Hullick and the JOLT-team who have been delivering some true managment wizardry in getting this festival of concerts and an exhibition up in big glorious sonorious lights.

Ensemble Phoenix Basel will be realizing an exciting collaboration with Z'EV and Antoine Chessex with four concerts in June 2011, more details see concerts/dates.

MIR's new record will involve a lot of west-african percussion. Alex Buess is still mixing it and nobody is in hurry, so it will be out sometime this year hopefully. Still available: MIR – S/T, a co-release of Wallace Records (Italy), Savage Land Records (France) and Atreeinafield Records (CH)! A couple of intense tracks recorded live at Dachstock Reitschule Bern, recorded and produced by Alex Buess and mastered in the US by Weasel Walter (Flying Lutenbachers) available as CD version or limited edition double 12'' maxi with handmade screenprint covers.

Due to the terrible events in Japan, Daniel's Japan-tour incl. the performance of a new version of his collaboration with Zbigniew Karkowski at the Tokyo-Edition of the LUFF-Festival had to be canceled/postponed and is rescheduled for April 2012. Also another JOLT-festival is planned in Japan in April 2012, more info soon...

X-Quartet are currently preparing a new collaboration with the Swiss musician and Sounddesigner Ernst Thoma. A few shows can be expected during the first half of 2012. More info soon!

Still available: Release of the book "Zbigniew Karkowski, Physique Sonore" realized and published by the Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival and Groupe de la Riponne as the first volume of the collection Rip on/ off. Texts edited and translated by Christian Indermuhle and Thibault Walter, the book contains collaborations with Nikola Mounoud, Boris Wlassof, Fernando Sixto, Guy-Marc Hinant, Naut Humon for texts ; Julien Notter and Sébastien Vignefor the graphics.This first book comes with a cd on which an original piecework callled "form and disposition" by Zbigniew Karkowski is recorded. It is interpreted by himself and Daniel Buess and was performed live on 17th October 08 at Salle des Fêtes of the casino de Montbenon durin the LUFF-Festival 08. http://www.luff.ch/en/publishing/karkowski

Ensemble Phoenix Basel is still working on the online-label "United Phoenix Records" (site under construction!), most of the numerous high quality-live-recordings made by the mighty Alex Buess will be downloadable. The site should be ready by the end of this year.
